Context and Challenges

In redesigning her supervisor, an important mining company found her alarm systems so overloaded that they were no longer used by the operation, so important information about the plant situation was lost. In the face of this scenario, it was necessary:

  1. Review 2 alarm systems simultaneously
  2. Working together with all areas of the plant: Operation, Automation, Maintenance and Process

Solutions Used and Equipment Provided

The Trigger tool was used to benchmark with international alarm management standards, indicate the alarms that most impacted the metrics and the need to review them.

Using agile methodology, 5 sprints were made in conjunction with the client's multidisciplinary team to re-evaluate the alarms indicated by the software, draw action plans to improve the system and create an alarm management process.
